FENDI S/S 2010

Karl Lagerfield is by far one of the world's most influential designers, and he's pulled it out of the bag again with the S/S 2010 Fendi collection. The collection was light and delicate, and incredibly chic; classy and feminine. There was a strong sense of contrast with sheer and opaque materials, with pastel colours being the dominant palette. The collection is very soft and flattering, with a romantic feel about it - I can see a lot of stars wearing it. I'm certainly a fan of a lot of the pieces in this collection, and the shoes are TO DIE FOR! And more importantly - Queen Stam was there!

Fendi's ad campaign, featuring Toni Garrn is also flawless.  The simple setting is made to stand out with block colours; the black and white contrast accentuates every detail, and the bright blue heels (which are gorgeous!) set the whole advert off and really stand out from the page. I'm definately a fan of the campaign, and Toni looks flawless in the advert; perfectly styled. The outfit itself is gorgeous, as is the whole set-up of the advert.

Tacky or Tactful?:Cheryl Cole

Every Thursday we're going to be debating some of today's modern stars and 'fashion icons'. Are they really style stars or are they down-and-out style losers? Let us introduce you to our Tacky or Tactful segment. This week's style contender is Cheryl Cole of Girls Aloud fame. She may be considered to be the Nation's Sweetheart, but does her style stand up to the test? Here, we find out.

LUCY'S VIEW:
Cheryl Cole is the embodiment of the Chav-to-Chic transformation. When she was first put into the spotlight she was inexperienced when it came to style, but it's clear to see the change between then and now. Some may say that she is just a follower of trends - but so are a lot of people. Yes, she's styled, but who in the media world isn't nowadays? Her style has clearly evolved and progressed since the world was first introduced to Cheryl Tweedy. She can still be spied in those god awful Adidas tracksuits, but she makes more of an effort style-wise when making a public appearance, and that you've got to applaud her for. Yes, the high-waisted flares look awful on her - they're unflattering on her frame; but one thing I love about Cheryl's style is her innate ability to accessorise any outfit with one magic item: brightly coloured heels. They seem a fashion favourite of Cheryl's, and they seem to be doing her innumerable favours. She teams gorgeous heels with any outfit and transforms it with that quirky statement piece to make her stand out. OK, sometimes she fails, but her efforts and the sheer transformation cannot be ignored.

DANIELLE'S VIEW:
Cheryl Cole's style has greatly changed over the years as she has become a national treasure. From thee disastrous outfits in the beginning, to the tacky WAGtastic times, and her now glamorous street style. In the beginning it was all about trying to adjust to the pop star lifestyle and look like an outfit clone of 4 other girls, I suppose she does have an excuse as she didn't have a stylist to preen her every day; however there is no excuse for outfit one, and lets all hope that was before the stylist, if not, let's hope that 'stylist' is long gone...
Now for outfit number two. The WAGtastic times, full of hot pants, highlights, and... the lottery? Nothing can get tackier than that white mini dress, with horrific frilly details, and matching 'baller husband accessory in a white suit and frilly shirt. Surely you would have thought her style would have improved after spending time with fashionista Victoria Beckham?
She really has come a long way from her style monstrosities. For her final outfit I must admit this is one of my favourite Cheryl outfits. I love the new hair, she's following trends, although it does look like a home-dye, her hair is still looking perfected. The outfit is the perfect street style, not only is it simple, its still glam. With the printed jumper and black skinnies, patent bag and killer heels; this is the Cheryl style you'll want to be following.

So what do you guys think of Cheryl Cole - is she TACKY or is she TACTFUL when it comes to style? Let us know what you think by dropping us a comment!
